Frequently Asked Questions

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash extensions are single lashes applied 1:1 to your own natural lashes with a hypo-allergenic medical grade adhesive, there are also volume lashes,( not to be confused with cluster lashes, which are not good for your natural lashes) these are applied 2:1, 3:1, or even 4:1. They lengthen, and add fullness to your very own lashes and come in a variety of sizes, lengths and even colors.

How are the Eyelash Extensions applied?

A single natural eyelash is isolated and a synthetic lash is glued to the top of your own natural eyelash approximately 1mm from the eyelid so neither the glue or the lash has contact with the skin.

How long does the application take?

The procedure will take approximately 2-2.5 hours for a full set and approximately 1 hour for a half set and approximately 1-2 hours for an in-fill. It is a meticulous procedure that requires patience and concentration so therefore it should not be rushed so that clients can leave with a perfect set of lashes. You relax with your eyes closed and there is no pain as this is a non-invasive procedure. Often clients are so relaxed they fall asleep.

How long do Eyelash Extensions last?

To Avoid Damage to Lashes- DO NOT pick your extensions off or rub eyes which may result in pulling out your natural lashes.

To maintain eyelash density a fill is recommend between 3-5 weeks. During the Fill, your lash extensions will be refilled & any loose or grown out extensions will be cleaned up. some clients will come more often some less due to maintenance of lashes as well.

Will Eyelash Extensions damage my natural eyelashes?

When eyelash extensions come out, they should always bring the natural lash with them. The whole point is that they come out when the eyelashes end their natural life cycle. Natural lashes have their own life span 60 to 90 days of falling and growing. It’s hard to notice small natural lashes falling out, but when attached to a thicker, longer lash extension they become much more noticeable. Some people claim that once you remove your Lash Extensions, your natural lashes will appear shorter and sparser. This is because you’ve been accustomed to a full set of longer, thicker luscious lashes. , we only uses lashes  that your natural lash can hold - we will not place anything too thick to avoid premature lash loss.

Is having Eyelash Extensions applied painful?

No. I am often asked ‘are eyelash extensions painful?’ and the answer is no – not if applied properly! The eyelash extensions are applied directly to the eyelash, so there is no contact with the skin. It may feel a little unusual the first time, but once you get used to it, it should be so comfortable that you may drift off to sleep! There may some mild burning from the glue fumes, but very little as Lasholiscious uses a mild formula.

Are Eyelash Extensions safe when pregnant?

Generally speaking, eyelash extensions are a safe and non-invasive cosmetic procedure Lasholiscious uses a high-quality, low fume adhesive which is manufactured specifically for cosmetic use near the eye, and the adhesive does not actually ever touch your skin - as the extensions are glued to the eyelash hairs. Allergic reactions to the adhesive are very rare (1 in several thousand) and when they do present, are easily treated. In saying this, we do not recommend that pregnant women who have never had eyelash extensions before test out the procedure during their pregnancy. The reasons are two-fold - firstly, the lash extension procedure requires you to lay flat on your back for over one hour; a position that is not recommended for women in the advanced stages of pregnancy. It also requires that you lie quite still - which can be hard if you're heavily pregnant! Secondly, if you were unlucky enough to have an allergic reaction, your doctor may not be able to give you the required treatment due to your pregnancy, prolonging the reaction. However - if we have been doing your lashes here at Lasholiscious and you become pregnant, there's no problem continuing with the extensions - just let us know so that we can make sure you are comfortable at all times!

Can you be allergic to Eyelash Extension adhesive?

Like all cosmetic products, there are some individuals who may be allergic to this particular adhesive. Allergic reactions are extremely rare however, and subside normally as soon as the extensions are removed. If you have extreme latex/band-aid allergies, you may be at higher risk of a reaction. If you have had an allergic reaction to any eyelash extensions before (swollen, puffy eyelids and under eye area) we do not recommend getting lash extensions again - as it is highly likely you will be allergic again. If you do have an allergic reaction, you must seek medical attention and we will need to remove the extensions as soon as possible.

Note: It is always recommended to have your lashes removed where they were originally applied
